WANT TO GET INVOLVED IN AN ADVISORY COUNCIL?

The 5th Ward’s advisory councils provide Alderman Yancy with important insight into the thoughts and opinions of residents. From community initiatives to important legislation, these councils are integral to helping craft a vision for the ward. We accept applications for advisory council positions on a rolling basis so please reach out if you have any questions.

YOUTH COUNCIL

Our Youth Council is for school aged young people and emerging adults aged 14-22. Help our office craft a vision for what a youth inclusive approach to ward issues looks like. 

SENIOR COUNCIL

The Senior Council encourages and facilitates relationships with our elders and retirees. It offers opportunities to be engaged and give support to community issues. 

BUILDING DEVELOPMENT/ ZONING COUNCIL

As we look for ways to revitalize and support the business corridors throughout the ward, the alderman will lean on his business development council. They will assist in zoning issues, community meetings surrounding new businesses, and help shape what development looks like.
